Dorry Segev and Sommer Gentry dance and teach 1940s Smooth Style Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, and Balboa. They love fast, upbeat music and fancy footwork. They have been dancing together all millenium and have competed and performed all over the world for audiences of thousands. They met dancing, and on October 18th, 2003, they were married in Ventura, CA. In 2004 they placed for the third time in the American Championships (watch the video!) and in 2002, while living abroad, they won the 2002 UK Championships.

[NEW] Sign up for classes, workshops, and events featuring Sommer and Dorry! We are proud to be on staff for the Baltimore Bash and Swing Fling this year. Signups are open now for Balboa, Shag, and intermediate and advanced Lindy Hop intensives in July and August, capped at eight participants each. Also, we will be teaching Lindy and Collegiate Shag workshops on July 16th in York, PA, only an hour's drive from Baltimore, as well as Lindy workshops on July 2nd in Carlisle, PA.

In addition to teaching all over the world, we teach online for free (a new move every week)! We also sell 8 teaching videos which include Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate shag, and Tricks&Aerials.

We have started a new project at www.charmcityswing.com to introduce non-dancers to what we all do and love! The website tries to demystify swing dancing, and there is also a free online beginner lesson to get your non-dancer friends started. Come on out to the new Monday Night dance venue at Austin Grill in Canton!

Sommer finished her Ph.D. thesis in June 2005. She does cool research on dancing robots, which has gotten some amazing media coverage.
