September 15, at Creative Alliance:
World champion Nina Gilkenson workshop:
Not your grandfather's Charleston 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Oh, wait, it is. You will learn partnered, leadable charleston steps for Lindy Hop. Nina knows enough steps to teach this topic for fifty hours, but, somehow, she will magically distill that amount of material into only one hour! Rest assured you will learn a lot.
Flying Lindy 101 2:45pm - 3:45pm
This workshop is all about getting your lazy bones moving to a place where your lindy hop is fast, linear, and dynamic! The class will include spicing up what you know and some moves you don't know.
Solo jazz and partnered solo jazz 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Authentic jazz steps are a cornerstone of lindy hop. This class will cover some really awesome jazz steps and lots of ways to integrate them back into your lindy hop so that you can enjoy them with a partner.
Act IV, Nina's Challenge 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Seriously, this is for advanced dancers only. Nina knows what you need, and in this class you'll get the wisdom of one of the world's great young lindy hoppers. You'll certainly get valuable tips on your basics, cool stuff, syncopations, and advanced swivels in midair.
And then at 8pm there will be a BEGINNER lesson and at 9pm the awesome sounds of the Boilermaker Jazz Band!!

Lindy in Patterson Park!!
At the Pulaski monument, we will be having FREE OUTDOOR DANCES on Sundays from noon until 3pm. This should be a great chance to dance outside (the weather should be really nice for dancing) and also great exposure for swing dancing (provided you come out and support it!!)
